When to Use Bomb, Reshuffle, and Lightning
Clears charge the Energy Bar in Block Surge. When Energy Surge becomes available, the best tool is the one that creates the most useful future placements—not necessarily the one that removes the most blocks immediately.
Bomb: rebuild a crowded 3x3 area
Bomb clears a 3x3 area. Use it when a dense cluster divides the board, blocks a large piece, or prevents several rows and columns from connecting. A central target often opens more routes than an isolated corner.
After the 3x3 area is cleared, can at least two of your current pieces fit in useful positions? If the answer is no, another tool may create more flexibility.
Reshuffle: replace an unusable set
Reshuffle changes the offered pieces. It is strongest when the board still has reasonable open space but the current three shapes do not fit together. Use it before forcing a bad placement that permanently fragments the board.
Reshuffle is weaker when the board itself is the problem. If nearly every region is blocked, changing pieces may only delay the loss; Bomb or Lightning may restore more real space.
Lightning: open a critical line
Lightning clears a line. Use it when one blocked row or column separates two usable regions, or when removing that line produces several new landing zones at once. Look beyond the clear animation and count the shapes that become possible afterward.
A simple choice order
- Check whether all three pieces can still be placed safely.
- If the shapes are the problem but the board is open, consider Reshuffle.
- If a compact cluster blocks the center, consider Bomb.
- If one row or column divides the board, consider Lightning.
- After choosing, plan the next two placements before committing the first.
